OVERVIEW

Brent Taylor is for sale – bought and paid for by the data center special interests selling out Tennessee communities, abusing our tax dollars, raising our utility rates, and using up our water and farmland.

SUMMARY

First, voters need to see ads on broadcast TV in the Nashville and Memphis media markets and on OTT and streaming platforms districtwide that:

  • Taylor is funded by the data center lobbies and big corporations spending millions to elect him. Taylor has sided with them to sell out Tennessee communities to massive data centers that abuse our tax dollars with sweetheart deals and taxpayer handouts, drive up electricity rates on Tennessee families, and use up the water and farmland our communities depend on – all so the big corporations behind them can get richer at our expense.

Then, encouraging Rep. Pearson’s Memphis and Black voter base will be critical to his victory. Efforts to engage those voters should focus in Memphis and voters should hear via mail and digital ads the following information about Rep. Pearson:

  • Justin Pearson is one of us. Raised in Memphis by parents who worked their way out of poverty, and the son of a pastor, Justin has seen firsthand how rising costs are crushing working families. When a big corporation threatened the drinking water of over a million people, Justin fought back and won.

  • Justin Pearson answers to the people – not the corporations and corrupt career politicians in both parties getting rich at our expense. In Congress, he will fight to lower our utility bills and the cost of health care and prescription drugs, protect Social Security and Medicare, keep hospitals open, and make billionaires and big corporations pay their share so working people get a tax cut.

  • Rep. Pearson is a reformer taking on the corrupt career politicians in both parties and the special interests that bankroll them. He has never taken a dime of corporate PAC money, and in Congress he will fight to ban members of Congress from trading stocks, ban them from cashing in as lobbyists after they leave office, and get big money out of our politics.
